Mahalakshmi Iyer

Mahalakshmi says, “I feel very privileged to be a part of this class. Sir ensures we enjoy the process of learning as much as we gain knowledge. Even though I don’t have much background in Hindustani music (as am Carnatic trained) he will explain in simple terms so that I can relate and grasp as much as possible. He is appreciative of small wins when we succeed. Also he has so many life experiences and memories to share that makes the journey very enjoyable for all of us. Based on the students skill sets he will ensure he makes them feel comfortable. I thoroughly enjoy this class and it’s great to meet so many people across India who are coming together with Sir on this learning journey. Hopefully we can make a sincere effort that we all will carry some part of the ghazal learning legacy with us and spread happiness through the great learnings that we have from Talat Sir.
Living far away from India, music brings us together.”

Aprajita Sapra

Aprajita says, “Like yin and yang, everything has something positive and negative in it. The pandemic brought about a never dreamt of possibility into my life in the form of online ghazal classes with Shree Talat Aziz. Getting back to musical training in this way still feels surreal. It’s not just that he’s a legend (which is of course a pinch-me moment), his amazing patience and tremendous passion to impart this heritage to all who seek is overwhelming. I’m mostly challenging myself to be worthy of this knowledge and consider it my greatest fortune to have got this opportunity. Thank you, Talat Sir for your patience, time and positive energy. The classes with you are inspirational. I can’t thank you enough for this opportunity. Thank you so much RFPA for making this possible. The technology and coordination are seamless, making the learning process an amazing experience.”

Archana Kamath Hegdekar

Archana says, “I feel really lucky and blessed to learn under the Ghazal maestro Talat Aziz sir, which I’ve been wishing for since a few years. I would really want to thank Rithwik Foundation for this amazing opportunity. It’s a great platform for seekers like us to interact and learn from the maestros. Ghazal gayaki to me is a very difficult form of singing, has its own beauty. Very different from the other genres. I’ve always wanted to learn it. Getting this wonderful opportunity to learn the gayaki of the Legend Late Mehdi Hassan saheb, through his disciple, the maestro Talat Aziz ji himself was more than I could ask for.”
