She is the only female harmonium player who regularly accompanies the leading vocalists in Indian classical music.
Her accompaniment to vocalists is a treat to the ears of all music lovers. It is lyrical and very appealing in its form and content.
Seema initially learned from her cousin, Shri Umesh Insulkar, and followed this up with a long association of learning from Pt. Tulsidas Borkar.
She perfected the art of solo performances after learning from the late Shri Vishwanath Pendharkar.
Seema is a graduate in music from the SNDT University, Mumbai and in the faculty at the Gandharva Mahavidyalaya at New Mumbai.
She has toured all over the world at a young age – UK, Europe, USA, Canada and the Middle East.
She has accompanied Kishori Amonkar, Veena Sahasrabuddhe, Padma Talwarkar, Pt. C. R. Vyas, Pt. Rajan-Sajan Mishra, etc.
