SANDEEP APTE is a young and melodious Sitarist of Pune. He is a disciple of Sitar Maestro USTAD VILAYAT KHAN. He has followed the ancient ‘BHARATIYA GURUSHISHYA PARAMPARA’ and learnt music, staying with his Guru for 18 years. His sitar performance has a Vocal touch, which is a speciality of this Gharana. He is ambitious to enhance the parampara of this Gharana with the blessings of his Guru, through his performance. At the age of 16, he stood first in the All India Radio Competition held in New Delhi. Since the age of 22, he has been an ‘A’ grade artist of All India Radio Pune.
