Pandit Shailesh Bhagwat

Pandit Shailesh Bhagwat is one of India’s leading shehnai exponents and the foremost disciple of Bharat Ratna Ustad Bismillah Khan. Trained initially under Pandit Aurangabadkar and Pandit Maruti Patil before undergoing nearly four decades of advanced tutelage with Ustad Bismillah Khan, he is renowned for his expressive gayaki ang, exceptional breath control, and mastery of rare ragas. A frequent performer at major music festivals in India and abroad, he is an empanelled artist of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) and has dedicated his career to preserving, propagating, and elevating the shehnai tradition through concerts and lecture-demonstrations.
