‘BELLS IN RESONANCE’ SHOWCASES THE GLORY OF CLASSICAL DANCE AND MUSIC 

Pune, Pudhari, 3 August: 

The first day of ‘Bells In Resonance’ commenced with tangible enthusiasm, and gave reverence to the legends of Hindustani classical arts along with their compositions.  

The performances were a pure pleasure to the senses of the audience through the resonance of ghungroos, sur, and instrumental taal. Classical Kathak dancer Rujuta Soman captivated the audience through her enchanting performance.

The ‘Bells In Resonance’ music festival was dedicated to Late Senior Kathak Nrityaguru Pandit Birju Maharaj and Late Senior Nrityaguru Pandita Rohini Bhate. Guru Rani Khanam, Roshan Datye, Amla Shekhar, and Rujuta Soman were invited to the stage for the lamp lighting ceremony (Deepaprajwalan).

The festival began with Ganesh-Vandana by Rujuta Soman followed by Rani Khanam’s impressive performances. Rani ji concluded her performance with Hazrat Amir Khusro’s Persian Awdhi bandish and tarana.  

The first day concluded with the vocals of Abhijit Pohankar. The audience was absolutely touched by Rujuta Soman’s performance on the Thumri presented by him.
