Amar Oak is one of India’s distinguished flautists, celebrated for his rich tonal quality, expressive phrasing, and mastery of both Tant Ang and Gayaki Ang styles. Deeply rooted in the Maihar Gharana tradition of Padma Vibhushan Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia and the Gwalior gharana through Late Pt. Kedar Bodas, he represents a rare blend of classical depth and contemporary versatility.
He received his early training under Late Shri Sane and Shri Bhave, followed by advanced guidance from Late Pt. Satchidanand Phadke and Late Pt. Sudhir Phadke. Over a decade of intensive mentorship under Late Pt. Kedar Bodas helped him imbibe the subtleties of Gayaki Ang.
