Ankush Nayak, a dynamic young Sitar artist, showcased his musical prowess at the Swarateerth Music Festival held in May 2023 in HUBLI. The festival, initiated by the esteemed classical vocalist Pt. Jayateerth Mevundi in collaboration with the Rithwik Foundation for Performing Arts, has become a celebrated platform for classical music enthusiasts.

Artist bio: Ankush Nayak, born on December 16, 1991, to educationists Mr. Narendra L Nayak and Mrs. Ushaprabha N Nayak of Mangalore. His musical journey commenced at the age of 9 under the guidance of Ustad Rafique Khan, a sixth-generation Khandani Sitarist. He further honed his skills under the mentorship of the legendary Sarod artiste Pt. Buddhadev Das Gupta during his tenure as a junior scholar at the ITC Sangeet Research Academy in Kolkata. Additionally, Ankush leads his own fusion music band named Shadj. The Swarateerth Music Festival in Hubli witnessed Ankush Nayak’s enchanting performance, receiving an overwhelmingly positive response from the audience.
