Savani Talwalkar inherited the art of tabla playing as a family tradition and was initiated into the art by her father Shri Suresh Talwalkar.
She made a mark as a young talent early in life and performed widely in the prestigious music festivals organised by various organisations in India and abroad.
She has distinguished herself as a soloist and has also accompanied veterans of Hindustani music.
She has attended many seminars and workshops on tabla. She has many recordings to her credit.
Savani has received the Dr Vasantrao Deshpande Award conferred by Dr Vasantrao Deshpande Memorial Foundation, Chinchwad.
Savani Talwalkar is awarded the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar of Sangeet Natak Akademi for the year 2012 for her notable talent in the field of Hindustani instrumental music.
