Sarode Festival Day 03 | Pt Partho Sarothy
Partho Sarothy is one of the finest musicians of our country. His music embodies the true heritage of Hindustani raagdari music. His virtuosity on the sarode makes his exploration of raagas an exercise in harmony and tranquility. His serious, meditative approach makes his music literally soar to unscaled heights of fulfillment.
Partho started his musical training under his father, Late Sudhamoy Chowdhary, who was a disciple of Pt. Radhikamohan Moitra. Partho then took lessons for nearly a decade from Ustaad Dhyanesh Khan, son and disciple of the legendary sarode player, Ustaad Ali Akbar Khan. Since 1980, Patho has been under the direct guidance of Bharat Ratna Pandit Ravi Shankar ji.
Partho Sarothy will be featured in the Sarode Festival organized by Rithwik Foundation in collaboration with Annapurna Devi Foundation.
