Sagar is an exemplar of the culmination of art and science. A disciple of his father, Sri Bharathraj Venkat Rao, a renowned tabla artiste, Sagar learned the very rubrics of the art under his aegis.
Throughout his academic career, Sagar managed to balance his love of music with his mastery over academics.
Sagar has a variegated list of accomplishments: national award winner for best master’s thesis, accompanist to many scholarly musicians, guest speaker at MIT, Montpellier, and other universities. He is known for his perceptive, unobtrusive and dexterous style of playing.
