One of the finest young tabla players from our country, Pt. Mukundraj Deo has come up from a family with great liking for dance and music.
He has received inspiration and promotion for his art from his mother Dr. Mrs. Manjiri Deo, a Kathak Dancer.
Mukundraj has been performing extensively in various parts of the country winning the appreciation of musicians as well as knowledgeable listeners both as a soloist and accompanist for vocal, Instrumental music and Kathak.
He is the Founder and Director of Mukundraj Institute of Music. He is also the Director of Shree Ganesh Cultural Academy He has the distinction of having provided tabla accompaniment to Maestros like Nataraj Gopikrishna, Pt. Birju Maharaj, Dr Prabha Atre, Begum Parween Sultana, Ustad Dilshad Khan, and Pt. Jasraj.
