‘KHAYAL VIMARSHA’ BY RITHWIK FOUNDATION
PUNE, 1 NOVEMBER, Sakal:
For every artist, the popular Khayal Gayaki in Hindustani classical music is as pure as a journey to attain spiritual enlightenment. Recently, senior music analyst and vocalist Pandit Satyasheel Deshpande expressed his views in a special program ‘Khayal Vimarsha’ arranged by Rithwik Foundation.
According to Pandit Ji, both Vilambit (Motha Khayal) and Drut (Chota Khayal) have a scope for spontaneous and innovative compositions in music. As an example, he performed creative renditions of popular Hindi songs,’Aadha Hai Chandrama’ in ektal and ‘Kajra Re, Kajra Re’ in teental which left the audience spellbound.
He was accompanied by Srujan Deshpande (Co-singer) and Vibhaav Khandolkar (Tabla).
