This performance was originally a part of ‘Gaanasaraswati Mahotsav 2024’,a program organised by Natyasampada Pratishthan in association with Rithwik Foundation for Performing Arts.

It is broadcast on our digital platform ‘Sharada Rangamancha’ as well as on our Youtube channel.

Raghunandan Panshikar

Pt. Raghunandan Panshikar is a distinguished Hindustani classical vocalist, trained in the Jaipur Gharana under the legendary Kishori Amonkar.

While rooted in the Jaipur-Atrauli tradition, he has developed a distinct approach to classical singing.

A versatile artist, he effortlessly renders semi-classical genres such as Bhajans, Thumris, Ghazals, and Natya Sangeet.

Born into a family of Sanskrit scholars and musicians, he inherited a deep cultural legacy.

His musical journey began at the age of 11, and under the guidance of Kishori Amonkar and her mother, Mogubai Kurdikar, he refined his craft over two decades.

An acclaimed performer, Pt. Panshikar has captivated audiences across India, Europe, the United States, and the Middle East.

His contributions to music extend beyond performances, with numerous acclaimed albums and compositions to his name. A recipient of several prestigious awards, including the Smt. Manik Varma Puraskar and the Ramkrishnabua Vaze Puraskar, he continues to leave an indelible mark on the world of Indian classical music.

bharat kamat

Hailing from Pune, Bharat Kamat is one of India’s leading tabla artists, known for his impeccable clarity, tonal purity, and deep understanding of musical accompaniment.

Trained from the age of five by his father, Pt. Chandrakant Kamat, a disciple of Pt. Samata Prasad of the Benaras Gharana, Bharat inherited a rich musical lineage.

His grandfather, Pt. Shantaram Kamat, was also a distinguished stage-music artist.

Bharat’s mastery extends across various genres, including khyal, thumri, dadra, natyasangeet, and sugam sangeet.

His refined sense of sur and lai makes him a sought-after accompanist, a skill honed through his 19-year association with the legendary Pt. Bhimsen Joshi.

Over the years, he has performed with eminent musicians such as Pt. Jitendra Abhisheki, Pt. Mallikarjun Mansur, Pt. Jasraj, Smt. Kishori Amonkar, and Smt. Girija Devi, among many others.

A regular performer at prestigious festivals like Sawai Gandharva Mahotsav, Shankarlal Festival, and Tansen Samaroh, Bharat has also toured extensively across the U.S., U.K., Europe, and Asia. His recordings feature on renowned labels such as HMV, Times Music, and Navras Records.

Beyond his performances, Bharat is a dedicated teacher, mentoring students in Pune and internationally.

A recipient of multiple awards, including first prize from All India Radio (1991) and Pune Municipal Corporation (2000), he continues to evolve as both an artist and a lifelong student of music.

Suyog-Kundalkar

Suyog Kundalkar is a distinguished harmonium player of the younger generation, recognized for his unique artistry.

He began training at six under Smt. Ranjana Godse and has been a devoted student of Dr. Arawind Thatte since 1997.

Suyog also trained in classical vocal music under Shri. Suhas Datar and Smt. Lalita Khadilkar and attended Tappa workshops with Pt. Balasaheb Poochwale and Pt. Vasantrao Rajurkar.

An All India Radio and Doordarshan artist, he is on the ICCR reference panel and mentors students through the Swaravartan Foundation.

Suyog has accompanied legends such as Gaansaraswati Kishori Amonkar, Dr. Gangubai Hangal, Pt. Ulhas Kashalkar, and Dr. Ashwini Bhide-Deshpande.

He has composed numerous Bandishes, published in Raag Chitra, and has received prestigious awards, including the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar and the Gaansaraswati Kishori Amonkar Sangatkar Puraskar.

Suyog’s contributions continue to enrich the world of Indian classical music.
